I'm addicted to Pho. I'm not sure what it is, but if I don't have it at least once a week, I have this emptiness inside me. IMO, there are 3 good pho places in Richmond: Pho So 1, Pho 79 and Pho Tay Do. I haven't been to Pho Tay Do yet, but I've read really good things about it.
So what is better? Pho So 1 or Pho 79
Broth: Pho 79 - They have a deeper stronger flavor with beefy aromas,
while Pho So 1 is more light and aromatic.
Vegetables: Pho So 1 - Usually fresher and bountiful, they also give you cilantro,
but Pho 79 gives you enough.
Meat: Pho 50 in Arlington! - about the same here, but Mr. Vo at Pho 79 knows me
so he usually hooks me up
Environment: Pho So 1 - both are equally clean, but Pho So 1 has more of a hustle & bustle going on
Service: Pho 79 - all I do is sit down, wave to Mr. Vo, and my order is out in a minute,
Pho So 1 is inconsistent and often slow
Location: Pho So 1 - more convenient, Pho 79 is in an undesirable area,
but only 2 minutes from Pho So 1
Saturday morning, all to myself. My arms, sunburned and sticky from aloe vera gel. It's been a while since I posted something healthy. Apparently the nutritional value in beer and hot buffalo chicken wings doesn't correlate with that tranquil feeling you get after leaving a BW3's . Okay, let's get started!
